How do I become an affiliated golfer in South Africa?
Once a golfer has registered & paid his or her annual membership fees & their golf club has paid the External Subscription Fees portion of those fees to the relevant governing bodies, that golfer obtains an Official South African Handicap Card & is known as an Affiliated
How does the Affiliation rate work?
As a member of Port St Johns Golf Club you qualify for affiliated rates at all golf courses that offer affiliated rates, because you are registered and affiliated to the South African Golf Association.
Who can join?
Anyone may join Port St Johns Country Club & Golf Course. The membership is internationally valid and your handicap is accepted everywhere.
Members don’t have to play at our course.
How long is my membership with PSJCC?
12 Months as from date of joining, renewable annually thereafter.
When are my Subs due?
Subs are due annually from date of registration. You’ll receive a reminder 4 weeks before. An invoice will be emailed to you and the payment is done by direct bank transfer.
How long does it take to get a handicap?
You need to submit 5 scores to get your official handicap.

How long does it take to receive my Port St Johns handicap card via courier?
It can take up to 2 weeks. Membership cards are couriered but you can use the app as your proof of membership. Most members use the HNA App.
How does my card get couriered?
We use Pep Store or PostNet to send the cards countrywide in South Africa. Find your nearest PAXI Point here.
Do I need my official card?
Its the digital age and all you actually need is the HNA Handicaps app and your HNA Player ID. You can open your round on the HNA Handicaps app. At the end of the round you enter your score on the app. If you are on your handicaps HNA app and you turn your cell phone sideways your digital card will show on your phone.
What is the HNA Handicaps and Tournament App?
The HNA Handicaps & Tournament App provides our HNA-registered golfers with a convenient way to submit their scores either out on the course or after their round. The App also allows golfers to:
- Create and follow tournaments
- Calculate Course- and Playing Handicaps for themselves and others
- Add or invite affiliated and casual golfers
- Look up their own scoring history
- Look up the scoring history of fellow golfers
- Capture scores hole by hole
